Since March 2008, an environment fee is being charged in Ilhabela. Tourists coming by car have to pay R$ 5,00 per vehicle and those coming by pick-ups, R$ 5,00 / vehicle. Such fees are charged once at the departure from the island, independently of the extension of the stay.

Vans and busses with previous authorization to visit Ilhabela (as mentioned before) are exempt from paying this fee.
