This insect may be annoy you, but there are some precautions you may take: the constant use of repellent lotion (we suggest repellent OFF of Johnson & Johnson) will avoid major problems. The vitamin B12 intake for 15 days before your arrival may also reduce the Borrachudo siege, but will not avoid it completely. Due to specific treatments in the waterfalls areas, the quantity of these insects decreased significantly in the last years, but its existence will be preserved, since they are part of the local ecosystem and an indication of clean and current water. However, we dissuade extremely allergic people from visiting Ilhabela.
